The Little Mermaid Chair

This is a tiny school chair that I purchased from a shop here on the Island.
I painted it with a little mermaid for a little person.

The legs and frame are metal.
The seat and back are wood.
It is a really cute size.
There's some stripes on the top.
And the back!

Another Vase

I had blogged about this vase way back when....Don't you just LOVE it? Maybe I can make one like it next.....hmmmmm The Doll Party is tonight! Hope to see you there! :)

Spring Bud Vases

I've been loving all of the Spring flowers around at this time of the year, so I made some more vases.
She is my favorite! I made her out of papier mache, but I am going to make a ceramic series next.
I took a little glass vase and papier mached the little lady around it.
I put some antique lace on her collar and a few coats of polyurethane. I may add a necklace as well.
There's the vase part in her hat! I think I'll name her "May". She has a hook in back for hanging on a wall.
Here is a medley of repainted plastic toy horses mounted on a papier mache base with a wee vase for buds.
I put a bit of rouge on it's cheeks. :)
I added paper flowers to this one.

I think this was a zebra. I had fun with these! They are all in the shop and I'll put them on etsy as soon as I can!

Madame Butterfly

The original Doll Show at Room Number 8 was postponed until this weekend....
I am delighted with my first entry! Antique and faux vintage flowers abound.
I finally get to use some of my collection.

I backed the papier mache shadow box with a wallpaper design that I printed in lavender.
Yes, she is stunning! I wish I were a Butterfly! :):)
Flocked roses, pansies and leaves.....
Groovey stockings....I shall wear a pair to the opening!
Which is May 27....this Friday at Room Number 8....8 Orange Street.... from 6 pm 'til 9 pm (but you know it will go on into the night!) right around the corner from Mitchell's Bookstore.
