More New York New York...

Ok...here we go! The first place I visited is Left Bank Books
It's right around the corner from where we stay in the Village. I found a treasure, as I usually do in a bookstore....Saul Steinberg..."The Art Of Living"....
Here's the cover without the dust jacket.....I got a copy with the dust jacket but it's too big to scan on my computer....I got these images from Austin Kleon's sites...Thanks, Austin!

Awsome....The inside price says $3.50...that was in 1947....I won't tell you what I paid for it, but I think I got a good deal no matter how much it cost! Go and check out Left Bank Books at 304 West 4th Street (near Bank Street) in NYC....212-924-5638.....

Then off to Kinokuniya Bookstore on 1073 Ave. of Americas, between 40 and 41 street. I walked my buns off in NYC....luckily we had great weather!

I wanted to buy all of the embroidery, knitting and Zakka books, but there will be another time....like when I learn to knit maybe...Instead, I bought these two Japanese fabric design books....designs from 1946 to 1959.....just picture after picture....yum....

Here are some scans....(My computer crashed before I left for Cape Breton, so I am still backing it up and I'm using a site that I'm not too familiar with.)

I will post more beautiful designs after Thanksgiving as Marty- nerd- boy will fix my laptop....so stay tuned for that......

Here's the inside of the Bookstore.....photos by http://www.cartoonbrew.com/ and http://www.yelp.com/ via Tiffany T....Thanks, all!

Do you see all of the books over yonder? Those are all Japanese craft books....

magazines,origami paper, craft supplies, stickers.....I spent 1 1/2 hours here (2 floors)

Then off to Books of Wonder on 18 west 18th Street...next to Friedman's and Paper Presentation....

Books of Wonder is all about Children's books.......

and mosey over to the left of the store.....a wee cafe...

with ladybug covered chairs.....and....

YUMMY NESS!!!! At the Cupcake Cafe

Talk about a captive audience......

What shall I choose?

How about this nice cake......

Too bad....somebody's special Birthday cake......

I'll settle for a rose cupcake...see how they package it to go? In an upside down coffee cup!

I snuck it out at Paper Icon and took a picture on their pretty paper.....
That was fun!

I took my cupcake over a few blocks (still on 18th street)....and ate it here at Old Town Bar
I always stop here when I'm in the city on 18th street.....and I washed it down with a pint of Guinness....

Ahhhh....another great day! :)
