Spring Is In The Air!

Boy, I would love a garden like this! Spring is in the air and there is a lot of activity all around the Island. Finally.
Look at that lettuce and that fine fence.
I've got all of my seeds. I don't bother planting them early indoors. I like to just put them in the ground and let Mother Nature do her thing. Although I will probably plant the English daisies in a pot in the cold frame.

This is what we all hope for in August, right? ( I don't have a source for this photo, but thanks to whom ever took it!)
Here are some neat and tidy raised beds. Looks like you can sit down on them while you garden.
I used to water my big huge garden in Kent, Ct with watering cans because there was no out door spout. I was BUFF I tell you!
Here is our lettuce in a wee raised bed in the home garden. We have been eating lettuce all winter out of the cold frame. I'll have to take a picture of that soon before we eat it all! Alright! Get out there with some manure and dig! Spring is in the air! :)

all those greens are so beautiful, and to think you can eat them!

Gardens sometimes grow more dreams than plants, but that is what I love about them.

Years ago I attended a workshop on Fair St. in Nantucket, at a place called Fair Gardens. I don't know if it is still there. It had a lovely and traditional herb garden called the Shakespeare Garden. It was designed by herbalist Betsy Williams (who grew up on Nantucket).
Pretty inspirational and maybe it is still there for you to take a peek?

All joys,

Such beautiful gardens! I hope to grow something nice myself this Spring :)

And to answer your comment on my blog, I am indeed still in school, though I've just started Spring break! So all is good in the world at the present :p ♥
