Bloglandia Polar Party

I came across this invite this morning http://www.elizabethbunsen.typepad.com/ while checking out some of my favorite blogs, this one from http://afancifultwist.typepad.com/a_fanciful_twist/ I sent along the Mermaid couple and The Butterfly Lady and even though I'm not quite finished decorating her, Party Lady begged to go too. So here she is...
This is her idea of an "artistic photo".....

And I suggested something fun and dandy.....so away we go! See you there...lots of people and creatures to meet!xo

Patterns

Here are some patterns that I made with my son,http://www.thelionalliance.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=3019 Paul the Printmaker ( his work is on the right...he's not the dude on the left) I made the designs and he did the silkscreening. One of my favorite subjects, Butterflies.

These patterns are some designs I made for wallpaper, wrapping paper or even sheets....we'll have to hop to it and print them so you can decorate a room with them!

This would look pretty electric in a sunroom, wouldn't it? There is a nice blog site about pattern right here http://www.printpattern.blogspot.com/ an awsome wallpaper company right here http://deadlysquire.com/?page=patterns&

My favorite boxes

These are about 3 years old, but they are two of my favorite pieces. I may use the designs on some new wares this year.
This one holds some of my jewelry......

This one is a large recipe box. I use it in the bathroom for all of my "stuff". It is convenient, and nice and neat!

You can see them again...http://jeannevanetten.typepad.com/jeanne_van_etten/2007/01/index.html at ye old blog....scroll to the bottom and click on the wee image of boxes...Voila!

and ready to celebrate
the back....... I used shells and glitter and all of the little doo dads that I have been collecting for YEARS...I will put them in my etsy shop soon! I have a big girl doll almost finished and another wedding cake topper with human-type people in the works. There are some other things that I hope to get done by next week and fill up the shop again.Whoop tee doo!

Oil Painting

I haven't done an oil painting since
my college days...I guess it's like
riding a bicycle....I painted a
portrait of Auggie for Honey
for his birthday.......Now I am
inspired to do more.

Winter walk on the beach

Honey took us out for a winter walk on the beach. There is the upper harbor on one side and you walk across the dunes...not too far, and then you are on the ocean side. Fishermen would take their boats up the harbor, pick them up and cross over to the ocean side to go fishing. It's called the "haul over", and this is where we took our walk.
The harbor side.....

The fellows looking for sticks.....

Auggie found a ball.....
He showed it to Honey...............

some nice sights.....

Time to cross over......

Back towards home.....on the ocean side...

We drove past the Sankaty Lighthouse
Full moon tonight....oooooooh!
Home in time for sunset...
