Scotsville School of Crafts

Right down the road from my house is The Scotsville School of Crafts.Here you'll find weavers galore....My neighbor,Verna, runs the place.She created two special tartan designs ...one for Inverness County, and one for Lake Ainslie. I think I'll bring the Lake Ainslie one home this trip! Slow internet here, but I'll keep posting when I can! :):)

Off to Cape Breton

We're going to Cape Breton for about 10 days...I won't be blogging much, but I'll try to on the way......

What's for Dinner?

This is what I am making tonight....Butternut and acorn squash soup from Tartlette.... And we love mussels! So we'll have some mussels on rice pasta with red peppers....YUM!

Martha Stewart and me

I received the November issue of Martha a few days ago....Here is an article on glitter painting...
Here is her version....quite kitschy! It reminds me of paint by number....I used to love that. One of the women I know in Cape Breton has a few hanging in her kitsch...en...(get it???haha) So anyway, all that glitter reminded me of my own special glitter painting collages....

This is the top of a stool that I recently painted.....I love how it came out!

Happy Fun Calendar

Here is my new desk calendar....about 5 x 7....wire bound for easy flipping......

Little spaces to write in, which I have always liked, especially if you have children with busy schedules.....

I'll put it up on my etsy site ....it's 14.00 ....The Mermaid Calendar, which is a bit bigger, will be out shortly! :):):)

Painted Shoes

I got some wooden shoes from the thrift shop.....

Here's the first one that I painted.....I'm going to put a hook on it and hang it on my door and put flowers in it.....

It will look swell.....

These are shoes that I painted for a wedding......

Simple yet elegant.....Big Nor' East winds blowing today....I'll be at the Studio, hunkering down and working on Calendars....:):)

Nathalie Lete

I loved Nathalie Lete's work from the moment I saw her studio in a Taschen book ,New Paris Interiors.

Just recently, I received my little email from Anthropologie and lo and behold, they are carrying Nathalie's work!
