My House

I thought I'd show you some of  my house.
I took the pictures in natural sunlight.
They aren't as bright as it is in the house!
I should take a photo course someday :)

First there is the clock that I painted in the kitchen.

Roses, leaves and tons of dots.

This is the corner by my desk.
Gorgeous handmade paper flowers

I moved the hutch that was in my shop to my "office" room.
I have some of my favorite pieces on top...
an old hand painted teapot given to me by old friends,
a vintage casserole dish for my stamp collection,
a John Derian hand painted bucket....yes, he used to paint
and I wish he would again!
Then there is a favorite box that I painted and a Julie Whitmore mug.
I love her things!
I found the primitive folk art painting
at the flea market in Connecticut when I lived there.
It says "for my beloved wife" on the back :):)

More of that corner by my desk full of inspiration!
The cottage was painted this sunny yellow color
and originally we were going to paint it all white,
but we've come to like the yellow happiness!

Some of my dolls are awaiting a new home in the other corner.

"Floating Flowers" painted in 1994.
This is our sunny entrance way.
The plants love it!

All of my collections on my bureau and the ledge.

A Cath Kidston covered ironing board
against the yellow wall :)
Thanks for looking!

And finally a New England Scene.

Time For Tea

The shop here in Nantucket is closed for the season,
although I am always open ONLINE:)
This is the first Saturday that I will be home having TEA!
I found this beautiful tea website from Japan.
The packaging is wonderful!
Scroll around the site to find more yumminess.
I love this napkin.
From a really interesting tumblr site HERE
My Son, Paul gave me this tea from a tea house near him in Brooklyn.
It is now my favorite!
Enjoy the links and have a happy Saturday.

Dolls

I un decorated my tree from the Festival of trees.
I didn't do a post this year on it
so here is a little surprise!

Some of the dolls that I made for it are now
 available in my online shop!

I don't use them just for ornaments.

I like to have them "hanging around" to keep me company all year long!

I made them out of papier mâche clay.

Then I added vintage and other little accents to
doll them up :)

Here is Light House Doll with her shell mini skirt.

Groovy yellow boots.

Ta da!

:)

Some of you saw my mermaid dolls and asked to purchase them
after I took down the tree.

Here are a few!

I have 6 in all, and I will post the others this weekend.
This one is in my Etsy Mermaid shop.

Nice glittery tails.

She is holding the "The Old Mill",
the oldest functioning mill in the country!

A fine mermaid to keep you company.

This pretty mermaid  is holding Brant Point Light House.

:)

This Chic chick has a nice little Nantucket souvenir.
A happy reminder of your trip to the Island.

Thanks for looking!
What's next?
