New Wine Box

This would make a lovely present for a wedding or a special occasion of some sort.
It's a wine box that I painted.
I like painting boxes, so I thought I'd experiment.
It was fun to decorate all of those nooks and crannies with a different design.
And there is the wine inside. Pretty fun! Thanks for looking! Onward.....

Pleasant Thyme Cafe

I'm doing some more illustrations for my Brother's cookbook. He has a cafe in Pleasant View,Tennessee. How do you like these pickles? They look a little like buttons, but they are pickles!
Tea time ! Here is their Face book page so you can see what they are serving if you are in the area and need a good bite to eat.
All cooks need olive oil....
And heart shaped cookies! Have a pleasant day! :)

Quilt Show! American Folk Art Museum

The American Folk Art Museum is having a wonderful quilt show! It's going to take place at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City.
I did a little tribute...a red and white frame.....
With quilt-like designs.
And a mug of the same.
Looks like a great show!
And I'm off to work! Tonight I will be at The Nantucket Yacht Club to hear speaker Joan Borysenko, "Getting Your Groove On: Celebrating The Wild, Witty and Wise". There will be tables of crafters there, so stop by for a visit and some cheer! Have a groovey weekend! :):)

I've already seen snowdrops and crocuses, but I can't wait for the rest of the spring flower extravaganza.
Martha always does a great Easter Issue. I found these images on her website.
I gave my Mom some frittilaria bulbs and they come up every year with the hellebores.

And who doesn't love LILACS! Thanks Martha! It's almost egg time......:)

Ship Box

I'm getting some boxes finished this week. Here is my new ship design.
It has rosa rugosas and dogwood as a pretty flourish. I got the idea from a folk art quilt.
Then there are the fishies swimming all around.
We are going out for a walk to collect much needed rocks to paint. It's sunny here this morning. I hope you are having a great day! :) Thanks for looking!

Spring Is In The Air!

Boy, I would love a garden like this! Spring is in the air and there is a lot of activity all around the Island. Finally.
Look at that lettuce and that fine fence.
I've got all of my seeds. I don't bother planting them early indoors. I like to just put them in the ground and let Mother Nature do her thing. Although I will probably plant the English daisies in a pot in the cold frame.

This is what we all hope for in August, right? ( I don't have a source for this photo, but thanks to whom ever took it!)
Here are some neat and tidy raised beds. Looks like you can sit down on them while you garden.
I used to water my big huge garden in Kent, Ct with watering cans because there was no out door spout. I was BUFF I tell you!
Here is our lettuce in a wee raised bed in the home garden. We have been eating lettuce all winter out of the cold frame. I'll have to take a picture of that soon before we eat it all! Alright! Get out there with some manure and dig! Spring is in the air! :)
